Retroperitoneoscopic surgery

Among very few urologist in the world  trained in Kidney surgery by retroperitoneoscopic approach- a further refined laparoscopic surgical approach.

Here, surgery is done from laparoscopic  ports inserted in  patient’s flank region, away from abdomen. This approach has several advantages including ease of direct access to the kidney through creation of the retroperitoneal space with a decreased risk of injury to intra-abdominal organs such as the bowel, liver, and spleen.

Post operatively patients has very quick recovery with negligible pain and tiny scars in flank region as compared to abdominal scars in conventional laparoscopic surgery
